Canon Rumours reports Amazon jumped the gun on posting the soon-to-be-announced Canon EF 16mm f/2.8 STM. A reader also was able to purchase one of the lenses before Amazon caught on and remove the listing ! The lens looks to be scheduled to ship on October 14, 2021. With a price tag of only $410 aud this lens will sell like hot cakes i think. Not having IS won’t affect it’s sales as long as its sharp and can focus quickly will be a fantastic travel lens. The size is crazy small looking at roughly same dimensions as the 50mm already on sale. Well done Canon finally some friendly lenses for us rookies !
With the Release event locked in now for the 14/9 at 1800 AEST the R3 specs look to be all but finalised and now just need full confirmation at the show. All thats left is the price the 1DXM3 is still $6500 usd so cant be the same as that as Canon have constantly said its not their flagship the 1Dx is! so expect around the $5500usd($7500 aud) for the new boy in town. Probably biggest issue is securing one i think as these are gong to sell super fast! Final specs are
