Dji Om5 was released last night with some new tricks up its sleeve! obviously the leaked handle extension is there. Its 215 mm in extra length so you can use that better lens for an even better picture and still be in shot, handy. There is a new colour palette , Athens grey or sunset white (pink). The best new feature i think would be the magnetic fill light clamp. Taking that same great strong magnet clamp and putting adjustable brightness and colour temps very handy for sunrise and night filming. Available now for $240 aud . No mention of any water resistance which is an issue with any gimbal, so a minor refresh and styling with a handy new light acc but cant see much more new value if you already have the OM4. Fill light clamp sold separately so may work with Om4 ?
The 100-400mm is F5.6-8 IS has leaked ahead of the release next week. The Canon RF 100-400 f/5.6-8 IS USM has a minimum focusing distance of 88cm at 200mm, a maximum magnification of 0.41x at 400mm, and up to 6 stops of IS when paired with the EOS R5 or EOS R6. When using this lens with the EOS R or EOS RP, image stabilization is about 5.5 stops of correction.
Another interesting design choice is that this lens is compatible with both the RF 1.4x and RF 2.0x teleconverters. Canon has also added a dedicated control ring to the front of the lens. $650 usd ($880 aud) Which yet again awesome and im sure they will sell a bucks load of them !
FPT’s Jon Prosser reports the leaked renders of the iPhone 14 ! a week before the iPhone 13 is announced. Styling for next years phone seems to confirm the end of the face notch as it goes under the screen and only the camera hole is visible. also titanium for the metal outline! The other monster change coming to the hardware is the camera bump disappears as it becomes thicker as a whole unit so the lenses are now just putouts in the glass back. Looks great nice and flat too which is a win. Wouldn’t it be great if they could do a retro model with stained glass so you could see the internals like the iMac of the 90’s ?
Derek “Captain” Jeter was inducted not the hall of fame yesterday, in Cooperstown! I still remember watching him warm up in old yankee stadium. how amazing his arm was throwing seeds from half way between home and 1st to right filed fence without even trying ! A true gentleman of the game, and a great leader and awesome player to watch growing up .
